Blood Witch is coming soon!

I am REALLY EXCITED to announce that I've signed a contract with Evernight for BLOOD WITCH! The tentative release date is June and I'm REALLY EXCITED ABOUT IT OMG. I'm also secretly delighted (or not so secretly now, I suppose) that the acquiring editor contacted me to tell me she loved it and it reminded her of Kim Harrison's The Hollows series. So there's that!

I don't have many details to share yet, but here's the unedited blurb:

Lola Guntram is used to being an outcast. She's the only blood witch in Fort Rosser, mistrusted by other witches and happier working solo. But when her dark practices make her the prime suspect in a brutal murder investigation, she's forced to turn to others for help. Not that she has many allies – her ex-girlfriend thinks Lola is the killer, and the local coven leader thinks Lola will corrupt them all if she gets too close.

Help comes in an expected – and alluring – form. Tristesse is a demon on the run, beautiful, enigmatic, and suspiciously keen to assist Lola while she chases down the real killer. How can Lola refuse? With the police breathing down her neck, accusations flying, and inhuman monsters on the streets, Lola needs all the help she can get. The killer is angry, desperate, and determined. But so is Lola. And she doesn't care how dark or bloody the magic has to get – she's going to stop them.

I've got to tell you, this book and these characters and this world have captured me far more than I expected - I can't wait to write more stories about Lola and her crew, and I can't wait to shove it all in your faces. So stay tuned!

Good news, everyone!

I've got another Ethan Banning short story polished up and republished and once again available for your reading pleasure! Currently live at Amazon US and Amazon UK, and I'll have it on Smashwords shortly too. Need an Ethan fix? Love dogs? Want to see Ethan pretend to be a vet? GONE TO THE DOGS can help!

After Ethan is kicked out of his favourite bar, he figures the night can't get much worse. Naturally, he's wrong. A trip to the dog track, a meeting with a wannabe femme fatale, and a revenge scheme gone wrong leave Ethan high, dry, and depressingly sober. And that's after he's been mistaken for a hobo...
